Use a Computer

The library has public computers with Internet access. This describes what we have and how to use them.

The library maintains a total of 15 computers for patron usage.  Below is further information about the different types of computers.
Parental permission is required for individuals 17 and under who are using computers with internet access.
  • Permission forms can be obtained from the staff at the circulation desk.  
  • Those 17 and younger will not be permitted to use computers until the library obtains a signed permission form.                                                                             Pic of Guy on Computer
  • The form must be signed by the parent or guardian of the child.


8 Computers available to all patrons.  

  • To use the computers, patrons need to ask the staff at the circulation desk for a code.  The code allows the patrons 2 hours of time.  
  • The computers are equipped with software that will wipe the machine clean back to its original settings once the 2 hour time limit is up.  Therefore, patrons need to save any items they are working on before this 2 hour time limit is up. 
  • The library does sell USB drives to save documents on.  See the staff at the circulation desk to purchase an USB drive.
  • These computers are equipped with the following:
    • High speed internet access
    • Adobe Acrobat PDF reader
    • Windows Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Access, Outlook
    • CD/DVD Player
    • USB ports
    • Internet Browsers - Edge, Chrome, Firefox
    • ABC Mouse - educational games for children

 

3 Computers available to patrons 17 and younger.

  • To use the computers, patrons need to ask the staff at the circulation desk for a code. The code allows the patrons 2 hours of time.

4 Computers for Small Children 
  • The library has 4 touch screen computers available for small children.  
  • These computers do not have internet access.  
  • Computers are loaded with educational games designed for small children.
