Remembering the Orphans
Join us for a dive into the history of the Orphan Train Movement that took place in the U.S. from 1854-1929. Program is provided by Lori Vicker, educator, who travels throughout Iowa sharing her knowledge. Her presentation will include vintage clothing similar to that warn by westward orphans and a bibliography that highlights non-fiction and fiction about orphan trains. Free and open to the public. This program is supported by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
