Books and Beyond is about much more than a simple face lift for the Harlan Community Library. It is:
- A catalyst to spur opportunity for our patrons
- An outdoor learning space for readers
- Accessibility features such as new and improved sidewalks and sensory friendly music equipment
- Continuous access to wireless internet and charging stations
- New safety exit for our library staff
The Harlan Community Library is dedicated to incorporating thoughtful design to ensure that every individual can fully enjoy the library and all that it has to offer. The Library prides itself on serving not only the city of Harlan, but everyone. By removing barriers and considering all needs, we will provide updated and accessible facilities for everyone. Our goal for this project is to break ground by Spring of 2026.
